Depressions across history and what we can learn from them

So we just got hit by COVID-19. The Fed is trying to sweep debt under the rug and gold is getting pumped like the gas stations a month ago. What to do and where to go? Well lets look at the broad market first. As of this writing the S&P 500 is still holding at almost all time highs. How? A record FED stimulus bill is how. When we look into history we can see that this is truly unprecedented. Markets typically don’t and can’t recover this fast. So where to look from here? It’s going to be a multiyear battle back to new highs. That’s as definite as we know. Also historically people don’t get over things quickly. There will be a lingering fear so if any new negative catalyst should arrive (China tensions, Oil war, US elections), you can be sure to see another leg down before we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
